That’s a lotta lids

Dear Editor:

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to our local supporters and our long-standing national partner, Yoplait, for its ongoing support of the Komen Promise!

In 2008, celebrating the 10th year of the Save Lids to Save Lives program, our national presenting sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure series reached its goal of donating $1.5 million to our parent organization, Komen for the Cure.

Of the moneys raised, approximately $1.2 million will be returned to the affiliate network including Komen Aspen which will help us provide free mammograms and other services to women (and men) without insurance in our tri-county service area: Pitkin, Garfield and Eagle.

Thanks to City Market, Safeway, Aspen Valley Hospital, Valley View Hospital and most of the middle and high schools from Aspen to Glenwood Springs for collecting Yoplait yogurt lids. Our promise is our mission to end breast cancer forever!

Claudia Curry Hill

executive director, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Aspen
