Thanx, thanx and more thanx
August 1, 2009
I want to give a big shout out of thanx from the heart (as well as back and feet!) to all the Four Corners volunteers at Mountain Fair this past weekend. You guys and gals rock! I’m happy to report that through the tremendous efforts of these fantastic volunteers there were no pedestrian injuries nor a single vehicle accident. Yippie!
For those not aware of what Four Corners does for the fair, they were the folks who were out there “working the corners” in those sexy bright orange vests helping you safely cross the street and keeping the traffic moving at a reasonable clip. The fair cannot go on without them (along with many others, obviously) as the town of Carbondale requires a crossing guard at each corner throughout the fair.
Also, a special thanx to George and Dave with Peace Patrol for helping me fill in some of the cracks when I really needed it. Y’all are the best! You made my frantic moments go by without as much as a stumble in my stride.
And of course, thanx to the Carbondale cops for all their help and guidance. Chief Gene (Schilling), thanx especially for that blast of air in the tire of the Hippie Cart. I can’t even fathom having to run from corner to corner for the rest of the fair. And last, but most definitely not least, thanx to Ordinance Officer Junior (Nino) for everything! All your help – and the use of the “Way Cool Gloves” – made my job so much easier.
So, all of you that helped out with Four Corners – thank you! Your time and energy is greatly appreciated and every bone, muscle and tendon in my body thanx you so much! Thanx to all the Mountain Fair Volunteers and participants. I (we) look forward to seeing you all next year!
