Thanks to the angels on our shoulders

Dear Editor:

On a recent day on Highlands, I hit some trees on stage left. I have a lot to be thankful for.

Thanks to Dennis Marry and Lisa for calling patrol. Thanks to my longtime friend Joe Popinchalk for being there quick and helping me through those first critical minutes.

Thanks to all involved with the ambulance and ER. Thanks to all my nurses, Doctor Rodman, cafeteria, and everyone at AVH. Special thanks to the ski patrol ” Paul Phides and Pat Duffield will always be my heroes. Words cannot express my gratitude for the remarkable and difficult job getting me off the hill with minimum amount of pain (six broken ribs, broken scapula and small laceration on my liver) ” nothing could have been done any better.

We are all blessed to have these unsung heroes watching our backs everyday. They will tell you that they are just doing their jobs ” I’ll tell you there are angels on our shoulders.

One last note: To those still not wearing a helmet, please get one and wear it.
