Thanks, Mr. Oil Baron

Dear Editor:

I am tired of frenzied women like Pitkin County Commissioner Dorothea Farris being devilish toward the American petroleum industry after reading “Farris wheels, deals for land” (Aspen Times, May 4).

Without the oil industry and its spin-off, the petrochemical industry, their standard of living and their financial mischief abilities would not have come about.

County Commissioner Farris sure won’t give me her automobile, will she? Be thankful to the oil baron for making your lives so much better and richer than your ancestors could ever dream was possible.

Pitkin County should concentrate on getting as much petroleum industry business as possible to increase the numbers of its wealthy citizens and champion prosperity.
