Thanks from the Rock Bottom of our hearts

Dear Editor:

The staff and animals at Rock Bottom Ranch would like to express a huge thank-you to the community, volunteers, and sponsors who made our sixth annual Harvest Party last Saturday a grand ol’ time!

More than 700 people attended this year’s event, carving over 500 pumpkins, pressing gallons of apple cider, taking rides on Butter the pony and Leon the huge horse, and visiting all the farmyard animals.

A special thanks to our sponsors who helped to make the event possible. Those people included Alpine Bank, the Frying Pan Bluegrass Band for keeping everyone’s heads bobbing, Paradise Bakery for 500 donated chipper cookies, Jeff White with Aspen Kettle Corn for the hundreds of bags of kettle corn consumed, Sandy with Aspen Carriage and Sleigh for the pony and hay wagon rides, Jim Ingram with Aspen Whitewater Rafting for loaning us a shuttle van, and Ben Wallace with the Waldorf School for their shuttle (we’ll get more for next year!). A huge thank you goes out to the Aspen Highlands ski patrol for donating over 500 burgers and brats and volunteers Mike Murison, Chester Areson, Rob Desaro and Mike Spayd for manning the grill generously loaned by the Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224. We hope to see you again next year!

Thank you to all the families who contributed at the door, the folks who renewed or became Rock Bottom Ranch members and to our sponsors; your support is greatly appreciated. These funds allow Rock Bottom Ranch to continue to provide environmental education programs for local schools, children and adults valleywide. We are truly grateful for the amazing community of the Roaring Fork Valley.
