Thanks from the heart
On July 25, the Aspen Poets’ Society held its fundraiser, ART comes from the HEART: Artists Supporting Artists, at the Hotel Lenado. We had it all – music provided by Bobby Mason and Lester Price, art donated by a stellar group of local artists, and the poetry of Richard Newman and the “Unknown” Poet.
The participation of 28 valley artists who contributed to the Silent Auction was truly heartwarming. A big thank-you to: Jeff Ashcraft, Gail Bartik, Dasa Bausova, Joel Belmont, Ron Berman, Scott Boberg, Maggie Butler, Shere Coleman, Tania Dibbs, Erin Dinsmoor, Katalin Domoszlay, Joan Engler, Kim Floria, Liz Frazier, Lynn Goldsmith, Majid Kahhak, Nicole Kinsler, Andi Korber, Tammie Lane, Linda Loeschen, Marilyn Mac, Roberta McGowan, Kate Olson, Sarah Pletts, Doug Rhinehart, George Stranahan, James Surls and Nina Zale.
Big thanks also to our sponsors, Alpine Bank, Sandy’s Office Supply, Peaches Cafe and The Big Wrap, and to those Aspen Poets’ Society supporters who provided refreshments and a helping hand. The biggest thank-you goes to the Hotel Lenado for being the home of the Aspen Poets’ Society throughout the year.
Our policy of sharing the proceeds of the art auction 50-50 with the donors whose work sold also drew heartfelt appreciation from the artists. This event was an exemplary collaborative effort, and we look forward to offering the second annual ART comes from the HEART benefit next summer.
