Thanks from the Buddy Program
The Buddy Program would like to acknowledge the generosity of all those who contributed to the success of what’s considered Aspen’s “party of the summer,” our Bash for the Buddies – with more than 500 guests attending to support the Buddy Program and the 650-plus youth we serve throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
We are grateful to all the loyal Bash patrons, donors, volunteers, restaurant contributors, silent-auction coordinator, volunteer coordinators, live auction and silent auction contributors and corporate and in-kind sponsors. We are particularly grateful to Fendi, our exclusive fashion partner and corporate sponsor of the past three years, and to sponsors LVMH, Nina Runsdorf, Meridian Jewelers, Aspen Magazine, The Aspen Times, Alchemy and Bethel. A big thank-you also to Bash coordinators and planners Jason Burns, Andrea Dill, Caroline Dobrowski, Erika Leavitt and Nancy Snell. We are fortunate to have such a strong group of supporters. Thank you!
This year’s Bash for the Buddies took place at the stunning Hurst Ranch on McLain Flats, where guests enjoyed a silent and live auction, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing and a beautiful performance by our own Buddy Band – comprising six talented Little Buddies.
We are forever grateful to Bob and Soledad Hurst for their patience and generosity in allowing us to take over a good portion of their home for the week. As always, the Bash featured signature dishes by many of Aspen’s favorite spots, including the Aspen Brewing Co., Belly Up, Cache Cache, Casa Dragones Tequila, Conundrum Catering, Elevation, European Catering, Evan Williams bourbon, Folie A Deux Winery, Fusion Catering, Jimmy’s, Kenichi, L’Hostaria, Matsuhisa, Peach’s Corner Cafe, Randy Placeres, Rustique, Southern Wine and Spirits, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Trinchero Estate Winery. A big thank-you to Caribou Club, Pinons and Syzygy, for doing the dinner dishes, and for European Catering for providing top-notch waitstaff.
This letter would not be complete without thanking our board members led by board President David Kelly; leadership development board members, led by President David Cook; our very generous National Council donors, led by Mona Look-Mazza, Tony Mazza, Angie and Gary Stewart; and of course our fearless chairman of our board, Lenny “Boogie” Weinglass, who has been instrumental in the Buddy Program for so many years. Boogie, thank you for your endless energy and enthusiasm.
We could not continue our programs and start new initiatives such as Lemonade Day without the support of this amazing community. Your support allows local youth to grow happier, healthier and more complete.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
