Thanks for the tour

I am writing to publicly recognize LaFarge Gravel Pit for giving the Roaring Fork Valley Homeschool Network a wonderful visit to their facility on Highway 82 this past Wednesday. Dan Knox and Dave Jordan bent over backwards to give us an outstanding tour, which included a safety video, hard hats and vests for all, rented vans to drive us around the grounds to look at giant machinery and mounds of aggregates, and a lecture on the uses of aggregates and how they are mined.

In addition, there was swag for each child and a demonstration of how the massive truck scale works (thanks, Laurie Pede!). We also learned that the general public can buy any of the aggregates at LaFarge for much less than one would pay at a retailer! Thanks again for a great time, LaFarge.
