Thanks for the help, Dan

On Oct. 28, my husband and I took a drive up Lincoln Creek Road on Independence Pass. We thought we would see what was up there.

On our return, we found the road blocked by five trees that had blown down. We were unprepared for such an event.

My husband hiked up the mountain and around the trees to get some help. He walked about a mile-and-a-half and found Dan Kitchen.

Dan had two handsaws and an ax. He drove Lyle back, and the two of them proceeded to cut a way out. Two other men came, and the four of them were able to clear the road.

Thanks to Dan, we didn’t have to spend the night on the road.
