Thanks for housing support

(This letter was originally addressed to Carbondale Mayor Michael Hassig and the Carbondale trustees.)Dear Editor:When Carbondale Trustee Russ Criswell proposed a way for the town to help Mountain Regional Housing, a nonprofit housing developer and service provider, to provide energy- efficient, dignified housing to the local work force, his idea evolved into many innovative solutions to assist the Keator Grove project.I want to thank Russ and all the board of trustees for your extraordinary ability to continue to examine ways to support affordable housing projects and to think creatively and courageously. Your leadership and understanding of this vital need is really heartening and you need to know how valued it is to Mountain Regional Housing and to the many people in our valley who desperately want to have options for housing.Susan ShirleyExecutive director, Mountain Regional HousingCarbondale
