Thanks all around
Dear Editor:
The Carbondale Community Food Co-op wants to thank the many people who recently came out for our membership drive, and especially to those who joined the co-op by purchasing a membership share in the business.
Unlike most community-owned businesses that sell a sufficient number of shares to raise start-up capital prior to opening, the CCFC was offered a large loan to open ASAP in order to fill the need for a midvalley, community-owned, natural food store. Our first year has been very successful in providing whole, organic, local foods to the public at large, and it’s now time for that same public to step up to the plate and purchase a share in the business to enable us to survive, thrive and expand to better meet your needs.
Many thanks also to Eco-Performance, Akaljit, Pixie Byrne, True Nature, Tanya, Doug Margel, Rock Bottom Ranch, L’Hosteria Restaurant, RFTA, and Valerie Kelly for their donations of goods and services for our membership weekend prize drawings. And gratitude goes out to all working members who volunteer their time in the store, which, incidentally, earns them greater discounts on all purchases.
Come by the co-op at 559 Main St., Carbondale, and check out our wonderful array of wholesome local foods, as well as household goods, personal care products and nutritional supplements. Ask about the many benefits of membership and please consider supporting the co-op by purchasing a share in this community-owned business. Everyone can shop at the co-op, but members get greater benefits!
