Dear Editor: The Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club would like to thank all those who volunteered and attended the AVSC 11th Annual 4th of July Picnic at Koch Park. The masters on the grills – Peter King, Howie Mallory, Jim Mickey, Mike Maple, Don Bird and Mikey Wescher – served 600 attendees. Dan Forde and High Country were fantastic. Our first epicurean.com pie contest saw 16 entries with 8 of those produced by kids. Congratulations to our contest winners Julie Ristine (age eleven), Ruby Brooke-Turner (age eight) and Lindsey Herndon (age eleven), Alex Maple, JoAnn Neibur, and Robin Cole.This event, like so many in Aspen, is run by volunteers and we can never thank them enough.
