Terry Turkat

Terry Turkat, M.D, passed away July 30 after a brief illness.

Born in New York, he went to college and medical school in Syracuse, N.Y. After doing his post graduate work at Yale, Terry practiced radiology in California.

Terry was a part-time resident of Aspen for more than 30 years. In addition to hiking, fishing, and skiing, Terry was an avid participant at the Aspen Institute. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

He leaves behind Roberta, his wife of 49 years; children Jennifer and Megan; and grandchildren Phillip, Alexandra and Lindsey.

Donations can be made to the Cantor’s Discretionary Fund at University Synagogue, Los Angeles, Calif.

State issues Vail Resorts a notice of violation for 2021 fish kill

Vail Resorts has received notice of violation and a cease and desist order in the wake of a spill, which qualifies as a “discharge of pollutants,” last year from part of the Vail Mountain snowmaking system that ultimately resulted in a fish kill in Gore Creek.
