Taxpayers shouldn’t remedy Burlingame
Dear Editor:
We should not be concerned that the City Council and senior city staff don’t have a great cost-tracking system for Burlingame or left a mere $25 million out of the election brochure budget. It is unnecessary to have accurate budgets or to constantly update expense reports, unless you need to make compromises and trade-offs to balance your wishes with what you can afford. I’m sure the city can count on Aspen taxpayers to refill its coffer with a new bond issue. We know how annoying and disruptive it is for the city to deal with financial constraints and cost/benefit analysis.
