Talking with the mayor

Dear Editor:I am in New York but I check my answering machine in Aspen. In the last days I have been swamped by messages from people named Pam or Spam telling me, who incidentally cannot vote in Colorado, that I should vote for some Republican, whom I would not have dinner with, let alone vote for. This morning was the best. The former mayor of New York was on the line telling me I should vote for Bush, with whom I would also not have dinner. What I like about this is that Koch lives in the same building I do. We talk from time to time in the lobby. He could give me his message in person.Jeremy BernsteinNew York City
