Taking exception to Hubbell
This ignorant hillbilly Gary Hubbell needs to keep his mouth shut. Of course, the American people do not agree with everything that President Obama does (I am personally disappointed in his decision to reverse the ban on federal funding to the foreign establishments that perform abortions).
However, he has passed some eminent acts/laws for our nation; for example, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Prevention Acts. The president’s education address also beautifully expressed and encouraged American students to strive for excellence, but they need to realize their own ultimate responsibility for their academic choices, not parents, teachers, or other extrinsic factors.
President Obama has also improved foreign relations dramatically, especially with other Arab nations. People need to realize that situations usually have to get worse to get better, regarding the high levels of unemployment still. President Obama did sign the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, but it is not going to change our country’s situation in just a year. I think people need to stop being close-minded and racist and know the facts before they speak.
Furthermore, do they know how many times in history neo-Nazis and white supremacists have murdered innocent black people because of the color of their skin? In fact, the exploration and settlements in the Americas are centered around white men murdering and wiping out entire American Indian peoples, like Christopher Columbus’ mass genocide of the Taino Indians. So Hubbell can stop with all his whining about the Black Panthers.
