Taking care of our youth

Dear Editor:

I am writing you in order to thank a local business that helped out Kay Erickson and Evan O’Branovic’s class during our Outdoor Education trip. Joe Freeman and The Grateful Deli were extremely generous in donating lunch supplies for our trip to Highline State Park and the Colorado National Monument. As teachers, the most stressful part about any trip is the planning and gathering of supplies and our great parent chaperones headed by Lynne Seeman allowed the focus of the trip to be about the kids.

In my second year teaching fourth grade at Aspen Elementary, I have been amazed by the wonderful parent support I have received throughout each year. The wonderful community here in Aspen does a great job of taking care and supporting one another even in stressful times. I look forward to a long career educating the youth here in Aspen.
