Taking Action in Africa
Dear Editor:Within Aspen High School there has begun a movement to increase the awareness of the tragic state of Africa, more specifically Uganda. Our club, Action in Africa, began small, but in only three weeks’ time has become so large it is no longer part of the Aspen High School club system, but its own thriving entity currently possessing 109 members. In connection with two wonderful nonprofits, Invisible Children and Free the Children, Action in Africa roots itself in providing an education for the children of Uganda. It is our philosophy that by educating African children you can save them from many of the horrors they would otherwise, potentially, be exposed to. This spring, we are planning two amazing events that will blow everyone in Aspen away! Until then, stay involved! If you are inspired, send money! We are currently opening up membership to all members of the community, which requires a minimum donation fee of $25 (information concerning this is on the website). The condition of Africa will remain as wretched as currently is, until we put an end to it. Your community youth have begun a mission to counteract these horrors. Please join us in our efforts.
