Take part in trail improvements

Dear Editor:

The Pitkin County Open Space and Trails Department is hosting a public open house Wednesday between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Colorado Mountain College Aspen campus to further review the various Rio Grande Trail improvement options being considered for the four-mile section between W/J and the Slaughterhouse Bridge. This portion of the Rio Grande Trail is arguably the most important missing link in our valley’s entire connective trail system. Open Space and Trails staff and board members will be on hand to field questions, suggestions and general discussion. Refreshments will be served. We hope to see as many Rio Grande Trail users and supporters as possible.

Howie Mallory

Chairman, Pitkin County Open Space and Trails board
