Take a clue from Evian
I’m a local business owner and following are my two cents on the “Water Wars” currently dominating local news.
As owner of à la Car, the multi-restaurant delivery service for Aspen and Snowmass, I recently contacted both Fiji Water and Aspen Pure in hope of initiating a partnership whereby their water would be offered to our customers to complement delivered meals.
My approach included citing our commonality as local businesses with primary operations in the valley. This approach was fruitless as both Fiji Water and Aspen Pure expressed no interest in providing their water to our market.
Subsequently, I made a similar pitch to the company responsible for distribution of Evian Water in our area. They were very warm and appreciative, and I am happy to serve Evian Water to the customers of à la Car.
My experience with Fiji and Aspen Pure showed me neither were sympathetic to working with a local business, contrary to claims made in the local media.
