Suzanne Marie McCann
Suzanne Marie McCann passed away peacefully in the evening of Dec. 10, in her home in Aspen.
Suzanne was born in her home in Pennsauken, N.J. She graduated from Merchantville, N.J., High School in 1960 and married shortly after. Suzanne raised her family in Severna Park, Md., and Easton, Md., and moved to Aspen in 1994.
Being a lover of the outdoor life, Suzanne had passions for skiing, hiking, tennis and traveling with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking on adventures like swimming with dolphins, paragliding, taking on the Highlands Bowl and kissing the Blarney Stone.
Suzanne is survived by her three sons, Michael J. McCann III of Hood River, Ore.; Kevin J. McCann with wife Elizabeth of Aspen; and Brendon J. McCann with wife Margaret of Warrenton, Va.; three sisters, Patricia Bell, Barbara McFadden and Eileen Stallings; and five grandchildren, Khyle, 18; Brendon, 14; Nathalie, 12; Patrick, 11; and Madaline, 8.A memorial hike to the Maroon Bells will be planned for the spring of 2007 to honor Suzanne’s life and love for the Rockies. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Pathfinders care of Aspen Valley Hospital or Roaring Fork Hospice care of Valley View Hospital.
