DENVER ” A woman traveling from California to New York is in custody after authorities say they found nearly 17 pounds of suspected heroin in her suitcase at a Grand Junction bus station.

Thirty-eight-year-old Diana Severiano Bojorquez is being held at the Mesa County jail on suspicion of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and being a special drug offender. She is believed to be from Mexico.

The Western Colorado Drug Task Force says the heroin seized Wednesday was worth about $2 million.

The task force says deputies found the drugs while inspecting luggage on a bus that was undergoing routine maintenance.
