Surrounded by blessings

Dear Editor:

Good friends of ours from Seattle spent Jan. 22 to 28 with us skiing, cross country skiing, hiking and having a good time. The following is an excerpt from their recently received thank you note:

“A few days after I got back to Seattle, there was a very fast last minute speech opening at my Toastmasters meeting. I gave a speech about our trip to Aspen with three main topics: beauty (the mountains, the snow, the majesty); energy ” what it is like to be in a ski town (especially with the X-Games in town); and sparkle (how Aspen isn’t your average ski area ” how it and the people sparkle). The speech was a hit and I had people asking me about how to get there (here). Truly, you live in a special place”. Karen Kenyon, Seattle, Wash.

Despite the downturn in the world economy and its affect on everyone one of us in Aspen, regardless, we live in one of the most beautiful and fortunate places in the world. Let’s count our blessings, not our lost revenue … the revenue will return. Our blessings are always surrounding us everywhere we go in the valley.

Thank you.

Debra Mayer
