Support the Basalt Fire Department
As a longtime volunteer firefighter and current president of the volunteers of the Basalt and Rural Fire Protection District, I am asking you to support proposition 4A. This mill-levy increase will allow us to continue to provide emergency services at the highest level.
Last week, we equaled our call volume of 2010, and in order to maintain this volume, we need funding. The decrease in assessed property values has meant that our income has steadily decreased while calls for our services have increased. The dedicated volunteers and paid staff of our department will always answer the call, but maintaining our revenue stream will ensure that we will be the best
emergency-service providers possible.
Please vote “yes” on 4A, and thank you for your support.
