Support the bag fee

Dear Editor:

I hope that Aspen adopts the bag tax on single-use grocery bags. It is far easier for individuals to adopt the habit of bringing their own reusable bags if there is a consequence for not doing so, versus the bag-credit system we have in place now.

Many places have successfully adopted a ban on bags or a bag-tax system. For a community that prides itself on sustainablity and progressive ideals, this simple endeavor should not even be a debate.
