Support Project Citizen

Dear Editor: I am a student from Basalt High School who is currently working on a project called Project Citizen where, as students, we work to make a difference and take an advantage of what rights we have as having a government like we do here in America. When my peers and I discussed the issues that are a major deal in our country today, we came up with the conclusion that illegal immigration is a huge topic in our everyday life. Especially in this valley where immigrants make up a large population of the work force. With this topic we decided to approach this issue and try to pursue to try and pass the “Guest-Worker Program.”If you are interested in hearing the proposal, please feel free to stop by and be part of the meeting that will take place at the Community Center in El Jebel on Monday, March 20, at 5 p.m.Thank you very much and we hope to get some support.Esmeralda SalvatierraBasalt
