Dear Editor:The reason that I responded to Mr. Kudish’s initial letter to The Aspen Times was that it focused upon very militaristic benefits of U.S. foreign aid to Israel. Are we to forever continue to think always in terms of only us and them? Please reread my archived letter at this website dated Sept. 18, 2002, which stated that to achieve peace we must be both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli.Most Americans expect Israel to be a good ally since we have given them more than $100 billion since 1967. Finally, we are now seeing the return of lands promised to the Palestinians under the 1967 cease-fire agreements – almost 40 years later. Sven Erik AlstromAspen
