Sunset skiing comes to Aspen Mountain on Friday

This could very well be your longest day skiing all season.
Aspen Skiing Company announced on Wednesday it will extend designated skiing hours on Aspen Mountain until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28. This means Silver Queen Gondola, which currently opens at 9 a.m. every day, will be open to skiers and riders for 9 straight hours.
“Skiers and riders with a valid lift ticket or pass will have access to the Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express — and as a bonus, Aspen Mountain will plan to open Bell Chair for the occasion from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.,” a news release states.
Sunset skiing will also feature extended après hours at the Sundeck, where a DJ will be spinning tunes from 2:30-5:30 p.m., the release states. The Sundeck kitchen and bar will remain open until 5:30 p.m., and the last gondola ride down will be at 6:30 p.m. All sunset skiing events are weather dependent and subject to change.
