Summit for Life registration underway

Registration is underway for the ninth annual Aspen Summit for Life festivities, which are set for Dec. 5 and 6 in Aspen.

The centerpiece of the festivities is the nighttime uphill race Dec. 6 on Aspen Mountain, benefiting the Chris Klug Foundation, an Aspen-based nonprofit that promotes life-saving organ and tissue donation. There are both recreational and competitive divisions.

Both the Ride for Life and Snowed In events will be held Dec. 6.

The Ride for Life allows foundation supporters to skip the uphill hike and ride the Silver Queen Gondola straight to the summit for finish-line festivities, including dinner prepared by The Little Nell, live music and a bonfire.

Snowed In is for those who want to support the event by sponsoring a participant or making a donation but don’t want to leave their lodge or home.

The festivities kick off on Dec. 5 at the Sky Hotel with the Party for Life, which will include drink specials, live music and the Summit for Life ice luge. Party for Life is open to the public for a nominal donation to the Chris Klug Foundation.
