Summit for Life party set in Aspen

ASPEN – The seventh annual Aspen Summit for Life Kickoff Party will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 39 Degrees Lounge in the Sky Hotel. Complimentary appetizers and drink specials will be provided.
The event gives guests the chance to register for the race up Aspen Mountain and learn more about other events Dec. 7 to 8 benefiting the Chris Klug Foundation. Those not interested in hiking but who still want to be involved in the festivities may sign up to volunteer.
The sixth annual Wine and Dine for Life will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Pacifica Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Cost is $250 per person, of which $200 is tax-deductible. At 10:30 p.m., 39 Degrees Lounge will play host to the Party for Life.
The Summit for Life Uphill event on Dec. 8, starting at the base of Aspen Mountain and finishing at the Sundeck. The 3,267-foot-vertical climb has two starting times: recreational participants begin at 5 p.m., with the competitive start set for 6.
Registration fees are $40 per person on or before Dec. 7 and $60 the day of the race. Participants also must commit to raise additional pledges. The post-race dinner party is $60 for adults, $35 for children and complimentary for those 3 and younger.
Proceeds from the events help the foundation with its mission to increase awareness about organ and tissue donation and help eliminate the wait for the more than 115,000 Americans in need of a lifesaving organ transplant, including 2,000 in Colorado.
