Summer activity fair set Saturday in El Jebel

EL JEBEL ” The organizers of a proposed midvalley recreation center will host an outdoor activity fair for kids and adults on Saturday.

The activity fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eagle County building in El Jebel. The event is free. Participants can learn about summer activities, programs, sports and camps throughout the midvalley.

The event is being hosted by the Crown Mountain Recreation Center in conjunction with the Roaring Fork Family Resource Center Indoor Summer Activity Fair.



Special events at the fair will include free lessons as part of the U.S. Tennis Association’s Tennis Across America program. Todd and Sally Grange as well as other tennis pros will hold lessons for beginners and advanced players. Junior tennis lessons will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. while adult lessons will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event will also feature a bike rodeo from 9 to 11 a.m. for kids ages five through nine. Volunteers will teach bike safety and there will be bike inspections and helmet giveaways.




Crown Mountain Recreation Center organizers will be available to answer questions about the proposed facility, their fund-raising efforts and goal to have a question on creating and funding the proposed facility on the November ballot.
