Summer activities heat up in Snowmass

SNOWMASS VILLAGE – Snowmass opens its Burlingame lift Wednesday to activities such as biking, hiking, mountainboarding, disc golf, paintball and fishing.

There are two 18-hole disc golf courses, with golf discs available for rent at Four-Mountain Sports in the Snowmass Village Mall.

A new volleyball court and horseshoe pit, free and open to the public, are located at the bottom of the Village Express lift above the Snowmass Base Village.

The Burlingame lift is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last ride down at 4:15 p.m. Adults pay $10, youths age 13-17 and seniors 70 and older pay $6, and children under 6 ride free.

The lift will run through Sept. 7.

Also, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies is offering free, daily nature walks at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. More details are available at the information desk in the Snowmass Ticket Pavilion.

Other free activities in Snowmass include Wednesday storytelling and sing-alongs by the campfire from 5-6 p.m., and Thursday Kids’ Krafts at 4 p.m.

Also, the Summer of Free Music Concert series kicks off at 6 p.m. July 2 on Fanny Hill. The series runs through Aug. 6.
