Suicide threat closes road in El Jebel; person taken into custody
EL JEBEL – A suicide threat by a person in a vehicle ended peacefully Wednesday in El Jebel with a man being taken into custody, according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
El Jebel Road was closed temporarily around 5:30 p.m. as law enforcement officials surrounded the suicidal party’s car. Basalt Police and Pitkin County sheriff’s deputies responded to back up Eagle County deputies. A witness said multiple law enforcement officials had their weapons drawn at the scene.
