Successful night of laughs

The Roaring Fork Family Resource Centers had a terrific and very successful fund raiser on Saturday, March 9, and we would like to thank all the individuals and organizations that made it possible. A big round of applause goes to the Benefit Players. They sang their hearts out and left us all with warm smiles and sore sides. We saw why Sam Horwitz and Quinn Garvik’s performance of a scene from “Reindeer Soup” was a blue ribbon winner at the State Speech Festival. Denver-based comedian Kevin Fitzgerald had us rolling in the aisles and did a great “family” comedy act.The benefit performance would not have been profitable without our sponsors, HP Geotech and Wells Fargo. The donations from the Wildrose Bakery, Daily Bread Bakery and Restaurant, Paradise Bakery, the Coca-Cola Foundation, the Comfort Inn & Suites, Best Value Inn, and the Valley Journal added tremendously to our success. We also appreciate all the volunteer time Marianne Ackerman, George Boehringer, Ralph Young, Mike Wells and the Roaring Fork Family Resource Center’s Advisory Board members contributed. Finally we also want to thank all the families and friends that joined us for an evening of laughter and celebration. Look for another Family Comedy Night next spring! The Roaring Fork Family Resource CenterKerry Ach, Jenny Ball, Janet Earley, Carolyn Hardin and Lindsay Neil
