Success, or failure?
Dear Editor:Re: “Personal summits for local friends,” June 4.Wow, you’d a thought these guys summited, with all the pictures and front-page billing. But I’m sure most of you already knew this, having followed every step of their failed attempt online. And I had no idea these guys were fifth-generation Aspenites. Wow! Must be the reason that it made the front page.Oh wait, I forgot, brother Roger writes for the paper and tells me every week why I am not good enough to call myself an Aspenite. Seems as though this trait is in the genes or something. Anyway, thanks, Nate, for the update on the failure, or should I say success with the Marolts.Sean SheanAspen

The end is gnar: Snowmass wraps up an extended season this week
The extended ski season at Snowmass Ski Area comes to a close April 25 after a bonus week of shredding that includes beer-sliding shenanigans, free parking and lots of still-skiable terrain.
