Style over substance

Dear Editor:

“Their house is subject to Aspen’s strict historic preservation rules, so they could only place the panels where they cannot be seen from Monarch Street.” – “Drafty old Aspen house gets energy makeover” (April 22, 2011, The Aspen Times)

How telling.

Aspen cares more about preserving looks, style and fashion, than sustainability and preserving the planet Aspen sits upon.

Until solar panels are as sexy and status-driven as apres-ski boots, we will never grow up.
