Students fabulous in ‘Bye Bye Birdie’

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:

You certainly couldn’t tell by watching the Basalt High School production of “Bye Bye Birdie” that Colorado ranks an embarrassing 50th in funding for the arts in its public schools.

John Goss once again directed a fabulous group of young people in a very entertaining version of this classic. I was amazed at the strength of the voices of these young people and marveled at their talent.

Many thanks to John Goss, Jane Cigrand, Shae Ross, Marie Gasau and a host of parents and others for lending their time and talents to this production. Thanks most of all to all of the students for their hard work in bringing this production to life. Bravo!

Marianne Williams
