A winter storm warning in western Colorado has expired and the weather service is calling for diminishing snowfall on Tuesday morning and a slight chance of snow in the afternoon, with highs of 25 to 35.

Partly sunny skies are forecast Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the 30s, though a slight chance of snow is also in Thursday’s forecast.

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center report for Tuesday, Feb. 26:

The avalanche danger for the Aspen zone is overall considerable. Where heavy snow and wind drifts have accumulated, human-triggered avalanches are probable, and they have the potential to break into snow layers near the ground.
