Stop left-lane lurking

Dear Editor:

This letter is to remind drivers on Highway 82 not to hang out in the left lane. To be sure, the driver I observed on March 7 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. DID turn left (at Glenwood Safeway) but only after lollygagging in the left lane for more than 20 miles.

Beginning in El Jebel, cars rode the bumper of the dark green sub-compact, but she would not move. No amount of cars passing on the right, some swerving dangerously between other traffic, could convince her to change lanes. Even a white pickup on her tail continually flashing his brights had no success.

One ploy not tried was laying on the horn til she gave up (or woke up) and gave way. Worth a try.
