Stop deifying Reagan

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:I am fed up with this over-the-top coverage of Reagan’s endless funeral. This out-of-control deification of a president smacks of Republicans trying desperately to divert attention from the debacle that is Iraq! (But that is another rant.)Reagan deserves the respect due a dead president – and he could communicate – but, after all, he was an actor. He certainly was not the “greatest president,” as some idiot gushed! His record had as many negatives as positives, and his disastrous economic policies continue to thrive to this day through the appointed President Bush.Enough of this crap. It isn’t honorable – it is merely disgusting.Valerie HarrimanCarbondale
