Still remembering Cain

Dear Editor:

My family continues to cry for the loss of our beloved dog, Cain, who was shot down by a “human being” pretending to be a respected hunter (“Family’s pet dog shot and killed,” Jan. 3).

I visit my family often. I am Seth’s mother and I know firsthand what a gift Cain was to all of us, and how unsettling it was to be outside and actually see the hunters so close to us all, including my grandson.
