Steward of the land
John Denver would not have wanted a mountain named after him, nor would Stuart Mace, Bob Child or Bob Lewis. One thing they all would have wanted was for Steve Child to be elected to the Board of County Commissioners.
They were all stewards of the land – good, strong, honest men who contributed greatly to the community and to the health of the earth and spoke out to preserve it.
Steve Child is of the same ilk, an honest, hardworking, earth servant, rancher, teacher and supporter of the environment. There is such a thing as an honest politician, and I think Steve is one of them.
I have known him for 25 years. His children, now grown, sang in my Earthbeat Choir, and I sang with him and his wife, Molly, in many a local performance of Handel’s “Messiah.” He is a good friend and a good person.
I firmly believe he would do an excellent job as county commissioner.
His statement of how we would make a difference in county government pretty much says it best: “I would provide a voice of reason on the board, would be a good listener to all sides of an issue and would make well-thought-out and objective decisions with the good of the community in mind and heart. I would treat all constituents with respect and fairness and would make decisions based on the merits of the proposals.”
I encourage you to vote for him in the coming election.
