Stephen F. Napolitano passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 in Carbondale, Colo. at the age of 86.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Stephen F. and Mary (Bova) Napolitano. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and lived on Long Island for many years. He relocated to Boca Raton, Fla. for 25 years before moving to Carbondale in 1997.

Stephen made many friends through golf, poker and storytelling. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who was known as “PaPa Steve” to all the kids he ever met. He will be missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeanne Ketcham Walsh Napolitano; twin brother Fiore (Helen) Napolitano; daughters Jody (Joe) Connors, Dawn (Dave) Galindo, Shawn (John) Benedict, Doreen (Patrick) Tobey and Coleen (Brian) Martin; stepsons, James Walsh and Bill (Rhonda) Walsh; grandchildren J.C. (Gretchen), Ryan, David, Amber, Connor, Chase, Monica, Sean, Zach and Dylan; great-grandchildren Saffron, Liam and Madeline Lily; his 96-year-old mother-in-law; and friends too numerous to list, who had great fun throughout the years with this wonderful man.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Frances Bernardo, and his first wife, Lily. A celebration of life will be held for Stephen at a later time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mesa Funeral Service of Grand Junction, Colo.
