Step up and help

Dear Editor:

In response to Bruce Berger’s letter (“Ideas for better Ute Trail management,” letters, June 14, 2011, The Aspen Times), the work that you are referring to was done this past weekend by another organization.

I wish I could remember which group; they had a booth at the Outside festival. I applaud their effort and appreciate their hard work.

While the trail might not look the way that you are accustomed to, it will grow back. This group may not have the same leadership that Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers provides when performing trail maintenance.

The philosophy at RFOV is to leave a trail looking as if it’s not been touched and we work hard to achieve that effect. RFOV will be out on the Ute Trail working to keep the trail useable with as little visual impact as possible.

Bruce, why don’t you meet us at the trail head any (or every) Tuesday at 4 p.m. in July and help us maintain the trail that you use so frequently.
