Step by step, dollar by dollar

(This letter was originally addressed to Congressmen Scott McGinnis, Tom Tancredo and Ralph Regula.)

You politicians call the war in Iraq “Iraqi Freedom.” How can you give them democracy and freedom when we don’t even have it in our own Pentagon?

Step by step, you are taking away our freedoms. Because of the huge tax cut, the federal government can’t fulfill its normal obligation to the people of the United States.

To pay for this counterfeit war and the rebuilding of Afghanistan and Iraq, you are stealing money from school funding, social security, protecting the environment (which Thief in Chief cares nothing about), health insurance, child care, and housing vouchers to give to Halliburton and Bectel to illegally privatize jobs in Iraq. So the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the corporations pay big bucks to get Son of a Bush, legitimately or not, back in office to assure the Americans that things will get worse.

And now you want us to pay to walk on public lands that you took away from the Native Americans in the first place. It’s hard to imagine just what you’ll try next. I’ve got an idea; quit fighting wars where we don’t belong, and get honest and real about where the evil really is.
