Stellar skateboarding

Basalt Recreation hosted the seventh annual Basalt Blow-Out Skateboard on June 15. The crowd was wowed with some amazing talent in beginner, intermediate and advanced divisions. I would like to thank all the competitors for coming out and having a great time with us.

Thanks to Polar Revolution for providing prizes from some great skateboard companies and for bringing their expertise to the event. Thanks to Colorado 500 and the Basalt Police Department for providing funding. Thanks to John Salamida, from Shirt Stop, for the awesome T-shirts. Finally, we would like to thank Sammy Shea, Alex Owen, Steve-O Pike, Michael Wagner and Walter Lacey for their expertise in emceeing and judging. It is always fun to be a part of this event and meet so many talented individuals.
