Stay positive, Basalt

Dear Editor:

Thanks to Bennet Bransom for working hard to keep Midland Avenue in Basalt in play.

It’s my opinion there is no better place in the valley to incubate a business than in Old Basalt. I know there are others who would disagree, but I find it encouraging that businesses continue to cycle through Midland and often end up better off than before they started.

There are not that many places in the valley that can offer a small business the opportunity that Basalt can. Of course, the town of Basalt can do better to promote Basalt and its businesses, and perhaps we will do better. As a company, we were formerly business members of five area chambers; we are now a member of just one.

I consider the Basalt Chamber the best for local businesses, and we will continue to support their efforts. Let’s keep the message positive and grow our own opportunities. Thanks.

Rick Stevens
