State legislators to hold town hall in Basalt

State Sen. Kerry Donovan and State Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush, both Democrats, will hold a town hall meeting from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. today at Heather’s Savory Pies and Tapas Bar in Basalt.

The two will provide a legislative update on this year’s session, which is nearly half over. They will discuss issues affecting the Western Slope and take questions, according to a notice of the meeting.

Donovan, a resident of Vail, represents Aspen, Snowmass Village, Basalt and the El Jebel area. Senate District 5 includes Pitkin, Eagle, Chaffee, Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale and Lake counties.

Donovan is a member of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy Committee, as well as the Local Government Committee.

Mitsch Bush of Steamboat Springs represents Routt and Eagle counties, so her district includes El Jebel and part of Basalt. She is vice-chair of the Transportation and Energy Committee and a member of the Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee.
