Spring means Aspen parking, bus changes
ASPEN – The spring offseason will bring changes to Aspen’s parking rules and bus service.
For starters, parking in downtown Aspen is free on Saturdays starting April 6. Paid parking remains in effect Monday through Friday; parking is always free on Sundays.
Starting April 15, the city’s Castle-Maroon, Cemetery Lane, Hunter Creek and Mountain Valley bus routes will operate from about 7 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Saturdays. Starting April 28, these routes will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
The Burlingame/Highway 82 route will operate daily from 6:15 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. with hourly service starting April 15.
The crosstown and Galena Street shuttles will cease operation for the offseason starting April 14.
During the offseason, free, late-night taxi service will be available Fridays and Saturdays. Rides will be offered from Rubey Park to any Aspen bus stop, leaving the bus station at 12:30, 1, 1:30 and 2 a.m.
