Aspen’s annual fall rugby classic kicks off Thursday with matches in the over-45 and over-50 Old Boys division at Wagner and Rio Grande parks.Fittingly, the home team will take to the pitch first when the BoAs – an over-45 team featuring a healthy mix of former Gents teamed with older club players from Boulder – squares off against Virginia at 9 a.m. at Wagner Park. The two other teams in the four-team group, the Colorado Old Boys and the Mountain Old Boys, play immediately after, at 9:50 a.m.The over-50 matches get under way at 9 a.m. at Rio Grande when Virginia faces Missouri. Florida then squares off against the Colorado Old Pokes at 9:50 a.m.The eight older Old Boys teams are among 31 teams in Aspen this weekend. There are another eight teams in the over-35 Old Boys bracket – which commences with pool play Friday – and 12 teams in the club bracket, which begins play Saturday. There is also the three-team women’s bracket, which includes one club team from Scotland – Aberdeen – and another from Glendale, Ariz.Rounding out the pool are the Babes from Boulder.Along with the over-45 BoAs, Aspen will field an over-35 team and its club team, which lost last year’s Ruggerfest final to the rival Denver Barbarians but has won nine out of the past 12 Ruggerfest titles.THURSDAY’S GAMESOver-45 Old Boys(Wagner Park)BoAs vs. Virginia, 9 a.m.Colorado Old Boys vs. Mountain Old Boys, 9:50 a.m.Mountain Old Boys vs. Virginia, 11:30 a.m.Colorado Old Boys vs. BoAs, 12:20 p.m.Virginia vs. Colorado Old Boys, 2:50 p.m.Boas vs. Mountain Old Boys, 5:20 p.m.Over-50 Old Boys(Rio Grande Park)Virginia vs. Missouri, 9 a.m.Florida vs. Colorado Old Pokes, 9:50 a.m.(Wagner Park)Florida vs. Missouri, 1:10 p.m.Colorado Old Pokes vs. Missouri, 3:40 p.m.Virginia vs. Florida, 4:30 p.m.
